Soly takes the next step into the Belgian market and appoints Cédric Beeris as country manager

Antwerp, June 5, 2023 - Dutch solar energy company Soly is strengthening its operations on the Belgian market. Cédric Beeris (ex-Bijenkorf and Bol.com) has been appointed country manager of Soly Belgium, to lead further professionalization and expansion in this market.

Developing into a leading player
Cédric Beeris has been the country manager of Soly Belgium since May 15, 2023. What is his analysis of the Belgian market? “The energy transition in Belgium is in full swing. Soly wants to contribute and play a major role in it. I would like to be part of that myself.”

Cédric continues: “If you look at the market figures, 120,000 solar panel installations were added last year. The total is now 760,000, which means that 25% of Belgian households have such an installation. There is a fragmented market, with often smaller players. Soly has the ambition to become a market leader in this. That appeals to my entrepreneurial heart. I like to build an organization that can be a player of significance in the Belgian energy transition.”

Distinguishing factors Soly
According to Beeris, Soly distinguishes itself from competitors in the Belgian energy market by the high degree of digitalization of its processes: from request and calculation to advice. “This modern management, combined with the large purchase volumes, ensures good pricing. Especially relevant today, due to inflation and increased prices for energy, food and raw materials. If you are able to guarantee fast delivery and installation – as now 6 to 8 weeks – you are certain of a strong offer.”

Personal approach customer
“In addition, my personal focus for Soly Belgium is that we are committed to maximum customer satisfaction. And I mean that for the entire chain: from the visit to our website, the way in which you can make the simulation, how the advisory meeting with the consultant goes through to the installers who come over and the after-sales. Of course, sometimes things go wrong, and we’ll have to solve that properly. I see it as my task to take the startup Soly Belgium into the next phase.”

Opportunities on the Belgian market
Finally, Beeris sees the biggest opportunity for Soly in the long run in offering a total solution. “Our colleagues in the market often offer either solar panels or home batteries. Soly is already active in both markets. There are many opportunities to further develop into a total solution, i.e. a mix of solar panels, home batteries, charging stations and an app to optimize all this.”
